The Front Porch would like to invite you to join our team for Elephant in the Room: Giving Voice to Hope. We’re bringing Rev. Becca Stevens to Austin for a day-long event on Thursday, May 22nd, at St. David’s Episcopal Church. We’d like to include all the organizations in Central Texas that work so hard against human trafficking and sexual violence with an eye to kickstarting a lasting and local conversation about human slavery and how to end it in Austin.

Our partner organizations include St. David’s Episcopal Church, Allies Against Slavery, the Texas Council on Family Violence, the University of Texas School of Social Work Center for Research, and the Central Texas Coalition Against Human Trafficking.

Becca Stevens is the founder of the women’s residential program Magdalene House and social enterprise Thistle Farms. She has written seven books and has another one coming out in the summer of 2014. She is the youngest person and first woman to receive a Distinguished Alumnus/a Award from the University of the South. She was named one of President Obama’s 15 Champions of Change.
